Delectable debut novel... a charming story... Pure escapism...

Lots of laugh-out-loud moments... I absolutely loved this book...

Great story and so funny!

Great cast of characters, both loveable and irritating. 

Jack was hilarious.

Jack is a loveable dork; Milly, his love interest, has a heart of gold;

and Cindy, his ex, makes a great villain. 

A loveable, hapless lead character. You can’t help but root for Jack!

Jack and Milly are immensely likeable characters,

whereas Cindy and Rich fully deserve each other.

Characters were brilliant - even the "pupils" that Jack taught, a diverse and relatable set with lots of banter and comedy.

Jack teaches English and some of the best parts of the book are his lessons with an eclectic mix of foreign students.

Who couldn’t love Puerto Rican Maria who is a teacher’s dream with her desire to get everything right!

Jack teaches adults English as a second language and the accounts of the students and the lessons are laugh out loud funny.

...a breath of fresh air. ...comical.

...a story that had me smiling!

For a debut novel, this was extremely good.

I can't remember the last time a book led me to laugh before this one...

I would recommend it to anyone looking for something light-hearted
